So, one sleep-deprived, low-impulse-control afternoon, I decided to try my own hand at Crappy Cameraphone Chemistry Demos, and made this video of a pretty well-known reaction between highly-concentrated sulfuric acid and plain ol’ table sugar (sucrose).
Forgive the banal chatter (as I certainly didn’t script anything) and the constant snuffling (as I had a pretty fierce cold). Also, forgive the mediocre quality of the video — I’m not sure how to deal with the weird iPhone aspect ratio.
I know I don’t explain a ton of the details, so feel free to ask!
So! Any questions?
